 My
Maryland Candles, LLC © is a home-based candle and soap making
business featuring handmade candles and soaps from Cecil County,
Maryland.
- Nestled in the rolling green hillsides, Cecil County is known
for it's beauty, serenity and history of the Upper Chesapeake Bay.
- At My Maryland Candles, LLC ©, our family tradition is to
handcraft premium quality scented candles and soaps. Just like
a hand-sewn quilt or home-baked bread, handmade candles exude the
personality of their maker and the quality of their ingredients.
We specialize in container candles, using lead-free wicks. Our
handmade scented candles and soaps are the perfect gift for any occasion.
- My Maryland Candles LLC © began as a hobby in 1998.
We’ve always loved candles. Many hard earned dollars were
spent buying both pricey and inexpensive candles only to be disappointed
again and again. This prompted the decision to experiment and
make our own candles.
- Our kitchen was the hub of activity, using trial and error to create
our recipes. We gave candles as gifts to friends and family.
We received great reviews. Soon after, many asked for more.
The support was rewarding. Our hobby sparked a thriving business
now known as My Maryland Candles LLC ©.
- Indicators in 2003 prompted the expansion of our business.
We added a 900 sq. ft. addition to accommodate the candle workshop.
It was evident that more and more people were buying online. www.mymdcandles.com
went live in June. The same year, we became a member of the
Cecil County Chamber of Commerce.
- Cecil County Chamber of Commerce honored My Maryland Candles, LLC
© with the 2004 Small Business Entrepreneurial Award’.
Later that summer we ventured into soap making. Our fine handcrafted
soaps are made with premium ingredients including Avocado, Jojoba,
and Shea oils, as well as Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter, to name a
few.
- Born and raised in Maryland, the Martin family knows the true meaning
of Maryland pride. My Maryland Candles, LLC © proudly supports
the Maryland Tourism Industry, by offering a true Maryland souvenir.
